It’s Spring

23 Apr

Spring is Coming

Has been in the 30s and low 40s at night; today was cold and gloomy. But this weekend, we’re expected to hit the upper 80s! It’s really unbelievable, the great temperature fluctuations we can see around here. Leaves are slow in coming, but I did happen upon a magnolia shrub starting to bloom, and snapped aphoto of these pussy willow buds. Soon, everything will be green again!

Hancock Airport Plane

Syracuse Airport Plane

Taken in Syracuse, NY. It’s one of the most boring and antiseptic airports I’ve visited. No screaming children, no noisy pit crew members, no roaring planes… hardly any planes, actually. Lots of airport policemen with sourpuss faces…

Bird Feeders

Bird Feeders

Spring is really, really here. Late-March, early-April snowstorms are still a threat to us here in Upstate New York, and they loom over our spring excitement until Tax Day (also Tea Party Day). But we’ *finally* made it into the upper 60s this weekend, and the turf grass has started to slowly fill the brown landscapes. I even have a daffodil blooming in my garden!
