Photo Hunters: Stripes

Photo Hunters: Stripes

I am miserably late with my Photo Hunters today. The main reason falls on the back of that cute little cat you see in the photo. Fuzzy was rushed to the vet this morning, the victim of a mysterious puncture wound. The wound was severe, although Fuzzy has been eating and drinking normally. My concern was the wound would become infected, so we got him some antibiotics at the vet.

Needless to say, I hit the ground running since I got up, and Photo Hunters had to fall by the wayside until now! At least I can still participate– Fuzzy has some very nice, fuzzy stripes. :) I’ll try to visit other Photo Hunters today and tomorrow.

My First Porcupine

Porcupines in Tree

Quite the milestone, I know. I saw my first porcupine at the Utica Zoo a few weeks ago. Have they always been here and I just overlooked them in the past? Or are these new additions?

And how on earth did they get into that tree?

They look furry. I had always pictured them as being, well, prickly.

Wicket Thoughts

Wicker Goat

Another oddity at the Utica Zoo. It’s a goat form made from wicker. It’s one of the first things you see when entering the Zoo.

Episcopal Church Paris, NY

Another very old church. It’s St. Paul’s Episcopal on Paris Green in Paris, NY. The congregation is still active there, but I have no idea how many attend.

Yaks & Snacks

Yaks N Snacks

At the Utica Zoo in Utica, NY. We visit the Zoo every year in the winter, when admission is free. This concession stand had no yaks and no snacks– and it won’t until the summer crowds start showing up.
