A Summer Day

23 Jul

New Hartford Street

Just another typical day in Upstate New York. I passed through the village of New Hartford, and snapped this photo at a stop light. I found the name very quirky: Carmen Carmanica.

Ancient Oak

Oak at Fountain Elms

We attended the Antique & Classic Car Show in Utica a few weekends ago. The cars were marvelous, but then my gaze struck this amazing tree. It’s an old white oak, perhaps planted by the homeowners 100+ years ago. Beautiful!

Chimneys at Stanwix

Chimneys

The chimneys at Fort Stanwix, all in a row.

Whoever rebuilt the fort here did a marvelous job. Everything is so historically accurate! But I’ll bet the non-pressure-treated wood and other natural materials require a good amount of maintenance.
