Iron Bar

26 Feb

Iron Bar

Wonder how this happened.

Was it a bored acne-laden kid, trying to make trouble, or trying to show how “cool” he was in front of the other guys? Was it a rope tied to a car hitch, to prevent the car from rolling down the steep pitch of the hill here? Was it a heavy seagull?

Your guess is as good as mine. I’m betting on the heavy bird, though. ;)

Heritage Center Plaque

Wesleyan Sign

We were speed-walking down Seneca Falls, NY, trying to cram in as many sights as we could before making our way home that day. I spotted this plaque (I’m a sucker for plaques) and snapped a photo quickly. I didn’t have any time to read it. :(

Next time I travel, I think I will only pick ONE thing to do. Then I can fool around and take my time with the rest of the day. I don’t like a rushed itinerary.

Ye Old Printing Press

Printing Press

This is the kind of stuff I saw at Seneca Falls– empty windows with curious objects. A sign said it was an old printing press. There was another paper with something that looked informational, but as I snapped the photo, I was distracted by a lady walking by. She stopped. She stopped to say “Nice day!” OMG!!! A friendly person! It’s a rare occurrence in New York State. People are so cool here.

But it WAS a nice day! Almost 50 degrees, sunny. I said, “Yes! At last!” and we chatted very briefly. She had a small dog on a leash that was incredibly behaved. I was thinking of asking her where on earth she got her dog training advice, but I thought better. I wouldn’t be able to drive out here to train my incorrigible Yorkies, anyway. Still, I admired her dog’s behavior.

In a few moments, she was on her way and I was on mine. And I have no idea about that printing press, lol.

Pink Door Detail in Seneca Falls

In a previous post, I displayed a photo I’d taken of a cute faux wall painted next to a florist shop in Seneca Falls. As we drew nearer to the wall, this is what we saw in the handle of the “door.”

Pink Door 2

*giggle*

It was nice to see that some folks in Seneca Falls still retain their sense of humor. :) Like I mentioned previously, many of the shops we passed by were empty. But the city seems clean. I did not see one bit of graffiti, although I did see a few folks wearing funky rocawear outfits, lol. One kid had green hair. Maybe he’s Irish, it IS almost St. Patrick’s Day. :-p

Touch of Spring

tulips

Well, pink tulips are DEFINITELY not a testosterone booster (not that I would know), but my husband liked them on the breakfast table, too. :D It was nice to see something colorful, something besides gray, white and brown.

The tulips are on a table where we enjoyed a stay at a lovely bed and breakfast in Geneva, NY. Oh, I’ll have all the juicy details soon! When I got home from the trip, I was clobbered with a billion things to do, UGH!!! I have not had much time to blog in depth. I pray I can get my work done and spend some leisure time writing about our experiences. We tried to cram a lot in while we were gone.

But from time to time, you DO have to stop and smell the tulips.
:D
