Purple Coneflowers

I haven’t had much time to devote to leisure, meditation, beauty, or even usual maintenance (like combing my hair!) these days. WOW. I have never been so busy for such a long period of time in my life (or so it seems). The house renovation has swallowed up my life. We are at the brink of saying the bulk of the work is completed, but this week is the final push to get the walls done so we can install cabinets on Sunday. Sunday is my deadline. And it is a fierce master.

My gardens are a disaster. Full of weeds, my flowers neglected.. I peer out my window and see their scrawny necks begging for assistance. I came across this photo of my purple coneflowers from last year. *sigh* This year, they are pale pink because they have been overshadowed by weeds. Next year will be the year to replenish my gardens!!!

Still, I don’t regret this time, not at all. We have wanted to renovate for so, so long. I am SO grateful that the moment has come! Hallelujah! I just cannot WAIT until it’s done!

Doesn’t she look peeved? We call her The Peevish Disputant when she looks like that. She dislikes the flash in her eyeballs. I would, too. :(

All my blogs are suffering terribly right now. I am in the “heat” of things with the kitchen renovation. It’s toward the end, the work is difficult, we are tired, my wallet (not my rfid wallet, but I wish I had one!) is strained… PLEASE let this be done soon. Wow. It’s been quite a summer.

The sun sets sooner now. Signs of fall are very slowly appearing, although it’s still quite hot and humid so you’d never know judging by the day weather. I look forward to fall, even though it means more work for me. I like cooler weather. And it will mean that we are that much closer to finishing our renovation. I need a vacation.

I can’t blame her. I wish the flash didn’t zap her blue eyes, either. Unfortunately, my camera is starting to show signs of weariness. The lens does not focus as it should anymore. Do cameras slowly fade?! I have a Kodak z1012. The color is superb, perfect for color printing. I purchased it because Kodak is superior with color. However, the focusing capability is very poor. I may eventually have to replace the device. :( I do not look forward to spending another $200 for a camera. *sigh* But it is an important accessory for my blogging… we’ll see.

Too many choices… what camera do I get?!

02 testing the post hole

I found this in my archives a few days ago. Isn’t he precious?

We were building a property-line fence around the front yard that year– must be 8 years ago, now! Oh wow. How does time pass so quickly?

Well, we dug holes 2 feet deep all around the border and side yard: 25 posts. Oh my word it was probably the hardest thing I’d done. The ground was literally FILLED with stones. It took us quite a few weeks of post-hole digging and then shoveling or troweling out the enormous stones from these holes. Talk about how to lose weight quickly. It all came back, though. :-p

My son was intrigued with the holes. He wanted to test them. The fence still stands, and is in good shape, so I guess we passed the test. ;)

Cat in Sun

Watching cats bath themselves is relaxing. They are peaceful. So meticulous. So quiet. I need the quiet solitude right now; life is incredibly hectic. I am absolutely thrilled to have so much work at hand! It’s hard to believe that just six months ago, I was on the brink of anxiety, wondering where my income was going to come from. Lo and behold, God opens the doors and I have tons of work. I have been very, very blessed to work for a company that is well-managed and gives me plenty of work. I write on various topics, anything that interests me, from how to make wedding invitations to fact sheets about inventions. Plus, there’s blogging which is very pleasurable. But golly, I am so busy I have no time to relax.

So I enjoy watching my kitty, beside me, while she does it. :D
