Ye Old Printing Press

Printing Press

This is the kind of stuff I saw at Seneca Falls– empty windows with curious objects. A sign said it was an old printing press. There was another paper with something that looked informational, but as I snapped the photo, I was distracted by a lady walking by. She stopped. She stopped to say “Nice day!” OMG!!! A friendly person! It’s a rare occurrence in New York State. People are so cool here.

But it WAS a nice day! Almost 50 degrees, sunny. I said, “Yes! At last!” and we chatted very briefly. She had a small dog on a leash that was incredibly behaved. I was thinking of asking her where on earth she got her dog training advice, but I thought better. I wouldn’t be able to drive out here to train my incorrigible Yorkies, anyway. Still, I admired her dog’s behavior.

In a few moments, she was on her way and I was on mine. And I have no idea about that printing press, lol.

Pink Door Detail in Seneca Falls

In a previous post, I displayed a photo I’d taken of a cute faux wall painted next to a florist shop in Seneca Falls. As we drew nearer to the wall, this is what we saw in the handle of the “door.”

Pink Door 2

*giggle*

It was nice to see that some folks in Seneca Falls still retain their sense of humor. :) Like I mentioned previously, many of the shops we passed by were empty. But the city seems clean. I did not see one bit of graffiti, although I did see a few folks wearing funky rocawear outfits, lol. One kid had green hair. Maybe he’s Irish, it IS almost St. Patrick’s Day. :-p

Great Legs

I think some folks at Seneca Falls have great humor. :D

This photo was taken at the Women’s Rights National Park in Seneca Falls, NY. I took loads of photos, and many of the topics and displays were very serious (child labor, women’s poor health, etc), but this was a bit of whimsy amongst the seriousness. And it shows SO well the prejudice women have had to endure for eons. Hello! Women are not totally wrapped up in how their nails look or how to get rid of whiteheads on face!! There’s more to life than that! Women can think, too!

It is a good museum. I’ll have much more to say when I blog about it on my main travel blog. And the photos are great! Stay tuned!
