Pretty picture, isn’t it? :D One of the kids snapped it.

The heat wave is finally over. We endured four days of 90+ degree temperatures and atrocious humidity. It’s been a long, hot, humid summer. We broke many weather records this year; notably, a few high temperature records unbroken since 1953. I, for one, preferred to endure an average summer. It was obviously not to be.

Our kitchen renovation project is just starting to show signs of winding down. We are not done, not by a long shot! I cannot schedule that Royal Caribbean trip anytime soon, believe me. But the kitchen floor is in now, and the largest countertop. All but two cabinets are installed. We hope to get the sink, stove, and refrigerator rigged up this week. Of course, there’s the washer and dryer, a TON of trim work… and the dining room still needs trim (loads of it) and flooring. It’s all progressing slowly… but at least it’s progressing.

Still, we can breathe again, and enjoy late sunsets.

I cannot wait until this project is finally done. It’s going to be one relaxing winter, I’ll tell you that!
