Out the Window

It’s almost unbelievable to think that this photo was taken only one month ago. I snapped the photo out the window of The Wild Center in Tupper Lake, NY. Doesn’t the snow look so icy? But there’s a detached beauty to it, too, as it sticks to the weeds and covers the frozen pond beyond, like some kind of wintry beauty face cream.

But this stuff is now in the past, or so we hope. The sun was bright and warm today, upper 40s. We went outside for a bit, to rake the last dregs of last autumn’s leaves, and tidy up the front yard a bit. Most of my attentions this year will be toward the new kitchen, but the front porch is in such need of maintenance. I may have to set aside some time to repaint the ailing railings and steps.

*sigh*

I do love spring but it does mean an awful lot of work for me.
